Heat-transfer printing (fix and wash)
Fix and wash printing is where colourants or chemical agents are applied to a textile. The three techniques which include these stages of fixing by steaming or heating and washing are direct printing, discharge/extract printing and reserve/resist printing. The fixation and washing of the fabric takes place at one temperature and for a time-period determined by the material in question. For example, cotton is treated at 120° for 10 minutes. The washing removes excess colour. During this process, the colourants penetrate into the fabric and the colour will be long-lasting.
Honeycomb
Honeycomb is a three-dimensional raised fabric with cavities that resemble the wax cells of a beehive. This pattern is obtained by the crossing of the warp and weft in a diamond pattern.
